Why the podcast exists

HCD Barcelona exists to study how Barcelona is changing, and to keep the city at the centre of its own story as a new wave of technology arrives.

Founder Daria Gavrilova moved to Barcelona in 2012 and went through the immigration process herself. In the almost fifteen years since, she has watched the city change dramatically, and the podcast looks at that change from several angles at once: immigration, with immigrants given a voice; women's voices; and the newcomers arriving with the tech industry.

The consultancy follows the same conviction. HCD Barcelona wants to put Barcelona on the map of AI innovation in Europe, with local teams adopting AI well and local stories told on the way.
